"SUPPORT TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE FRAMEWORK FOR INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL COOPERATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS"
Yesterday, on the World Recycling Day, the first set of equipment for municipal solid waste collection was provided to the town of Kobryn (the Brest Region). The equipment had been procured within the framework of the joint project of the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme “Support to the development of a comprehensive framework for international environmental cooperation in the Republic of Belarus”.
The first ecological festival “Cranes and cranberries” was held on 30 September in Miory (the Viciebsk region). The event was organized by local authorities together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and “Birdlife Belarus” NGO with support from EU/UNDP Project “Support to the development of a comprehensive framework for international environmental cooperation in the Republic of Belarus” and assistance of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus.
17 August 2012 the EU/UNDP project held the seminar: “New strategy of municipal solid waste management: international practice and national experience.”
